Resident of Hinckley, Mn. for 30 years, died after a short illness. Age 75 yrs. and 5 months.
Born in Berlin, WI. and married to Henry C. Eastling of Owen, Wi. on August 12, 1878,
spending their early life there until moving to Rochester, Mn. and also pioneering in S.D.
She would tell stories of early days of the Dakotas and remembered well when the men folks
would go buffalo hunting. 10 children were born, 3 sons, 7 daughters. 3 preceded the
parents in death, a son and 2 daughters. They moved to Hinckley in 1908 and lived there
until Mr. Eastling died in 1929. Since then Mary J. made her home with her son Archie.
Surviving are her son Archie of Hinckley and Arthur of Duluth, daughters Mrs. Harriett
Peters of Esmond, N.D., Mrs. Clara Walsten of Haywarden, Iowa, Mrs. Maggie Harris of
Barnsville, Ohio, Mrs. Alice Wooster of Ashland, Ohio, Mrs. Blanch Bjerke of Hinckley, a
brother Frank Campbell of Bryant, S.D., sister Mrs. Emma Smith of Nekoosa, WI., 36
grandchildren and 26 great grandchldren.
